Bab Al Rahma (Gate of Mercy), in the western wall of the Masild Al Nabawi, was so named because it was here that the prayer for rain was made. It was also known as Bab Atikah. Photographed in1947 by Muhammad Helmi, this entrance to Masjid Al Nabawi is in the neoclassical style, the frieze above the gate is decorated with calligraphy, and the cornice supports ornaments in the classical style.
