The Masjid Al Ghamama (Clouds mosque), seen on the right of this photograph, dates from the 13th century in the Mamluk period and is named after the clouds that appeared when the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) made the special prayers for rain in this place. Its alternative name is Masjid Al Eid, because the Prophet performed Eid prayers here in the last few years of his life.
